Sports at a Glance

Healthy Mind resides in Healthy Body”. We, at the University strongly believe in it and simultaneously have taken the institute ahead in sports too. Sports and Physical Education play an important role in the development of integrated personality of the youth and all human being. Sports constitute the backbone of the University. Right from the establishment of the University, Sports has brought laurels to it. Both men and women students are given equal opportunities to demonstrate their talent in games and sports. University Sports Board organizing about Sixty Five different Games and Events of Inter-College Tournaments in Every Session. The performance of the University players and athletes has been remarkable especially in Cycling, Weight Lifting/Power Lifting, Athletics, Boxing, Shooting, Archery, Judo and Handball. University players won total 159 Medals from session 2004-05 to 2020-21 in All India Inter-University Tournaments. Every year about 13000 players participate in Inter-College and about 550 (Men and Women) players of the University selected for All India Inter-University Competition.

Sports Board

University sports Board has been formulated with the aim to promote games and sports related activities. The office bearers of this board are as follows: Chairmen Mrs. Krishana Poonia (Asian Game Medalist & M.L.A. Rajgarh), Secretary, One BOM Member, Representative of College Education, Four DPE’s of affiliated colleges, Registrar, Controller of Finance, Estate Officer and The students both men and women who have a brilliant sports records have also been given space on the Board.

Aim’s and Objectives

The Aim’s and Objectives of the Sports Board Shall be-

  • To plan and promote Games, Sports, Physical Culture and Education.
  • To promote friendly relations among the students.
  • To organize training, coaching and education in Sports, Games and Physical Education.
  • Development of Games and Sports.
  • University has paid considerable attention to Sports and Games.

Sports Facilities

The University has the following sports facilities-

  • The largest Air Conditioned Multipurpose Indoor Stadium in the State. (Under Construction)

(Including all indoor Sports Games: Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Gymnastic, Gymnasium, Judo, Wrestling, Yoga, Chess, and Tennis etc.)

  • The Cycling Velodrum. (Under Construction)
  • The Inter-University medalists are given a cash award of Rs. 31,000/- (Gold), 21,000/- (Silver) and 11,000 (Bronze).

The University Hosted the following All India Inter University Championships

  • Cycling Road (Men) Championship in the Session 2017-18.
  • Cycling Road (Men) Championship in the Session 2018-19.
  • Cycling Road (Men) Championship in the Session 2019-20.
  • Besides the above three the University also hosted Air Pistol Shooting & .177 Air Riffle Peep Site (M&W) Tournament in Session 2006-07.

University’s Sports in World University Games

Mr. Pradeep Kumar (Athlete) was selected to represent to Indian Universities Athletic (Men) team in World University Games-2019 to be held at Napoli, Italy from 3rd to 14th July 2019. All Expenditures (Rs. 2,26,050/-) of this Athlete bear by this university.

Mr. Atul Poonia (Athlete) achieved Gold Medal in KIUG 2020 with New Meet Record at KIIT, Bhubaneswar.
